Fees and Billing
Understanding Your Fees
At Dan’s practice, we want you to feel well informed and supported throughout your care. This includes having a clear understanding of the costs associated with your appointments and, if surgery is recommended, your procedure.
Our team is always available to talk you through your fees, Medicare rebates and private health insurance so that you know what to expect.
Consultation Fees
-
Initial consultation, new referral or new condition $350
A Medicare rebate may apply with a valid referral.
-
Initial phone consultation $250
A reduced fee applies as Medicare rebates are not currently available for phone consultations.
-
Follow-up and subsequent consultations $200
A Medicare rebate may apply.
WorkCover and ICWA patients: For patients receiving treatment through WorkCover or the Insurance Commission of Western Australia (ICWA), consultation and surgical fees are generally billed directly to the relevant insurer.
Planning for Surgery
If you and Dan decide that surgery is the right next step for you, our team will make sure you understand the anticipated costs before proceeding.
Dan is registered with all private health funds, which means insured patients may be eligible to receive both Medicare and private health fund rebates towards their surgery.
Dan does not participate in health fund preferred-provider or gap-cover schemes, so there will usually be an out-of-pocket component associated with your surgical care.
Before your operation, we will provide you with a personalised written estimate outlining Dan’s surgical fee and your anticipated out-of-pocket cost. This gives you time to review the information and speak with our team if you have any questions.
Our fees reflect the specialist care, surgical expertise, planning and support involved in looking after you throughout your surgical journey. Medicare and private health insurance rebates contribute towards these costs, although they may not cover the full fee.
Here to Help
We understand that private health insurance and surgical costs can sometimes be difficult to navigate. If you are uninsured, are unsure whether your policy covers your proposed procedure, or have any questions about the costs involved in your care, please speak with our team.
We are here to make the process as clear and straightforward as possible, so you can focus on your treatment and recovery.
